Death, After Redon

I sold one print from a limited edition of four images created in homage to the French printmaking master who redefined the accepted source of imagery from the very real, representational sources to that of the mind, dreams, what became known in later centuries as the unconscious. Odlion Redon was not only a printmaker, but a talented pastel artists as well.

I have long appreciated his commitment to working solely in black and white before stepping into the overwhelming and often blindingly complicated and sometimes spurious worlds of color.

The print now resides in a private collection in Stuart, Florida.
